Subsea DC switchgear and associated power converter

It is presented a subsea DC switchgear comprising: at least one power semiconductor controllable to break a circuit; at least one capacitor respectively associated with each one of the at least one power semiconductor; and a pressure housing arranged to prevent surrounding hydrostatic pressure from pressurising an interior of the pressure housing. The at least one capacitor is provided inside the pressure housing and the at least one power semiconductor is provided external to the pressure housing. An associated subsea power converter is also presented.
