559,164. Electrodeposition of antimony. BLOOM, M. C. July 21, 1942, No. 10206. Convention date, July 28, 1941. [Class 41] Conducting surfaces on which antimony is to be deposited are roughened or etched mechanically, chemically, or by anodic electrolytic treatment and antimony is deposited thereon from an aqueous electrolyte containing the trifluoride, a fluoride of a monovalent alkali base, ammonium or sodium, and the alkali base in hydroxide form, the hydroxide ion concentration being insufficient to cause precipitation. Addition agents such as copper, mercuric, or telluric fluorides may be incorporated to decrease grain size, and increase the throwing power of the bath. Specifications 405,433 and 567,794 are referred to. |
