The present invention relates to a device to control the operation direction of a switch on a terminal. The device includes: a state recognition unit which recognizes the position state of a terminal based on a sensor signal; and a direction adjustment unit which adjusts the operation direction of a switch which is physically attached to the terminal and receives various control commands from a user according to the location state of the recognized terminal. According to the present embodiment, by controlling the operation direction of a logical switch consistently based on a gyro sensor on a terminal such as a smart phone and the like, it is possible to prevent confusion or inconvenience of a user in terms of the operation direction of a switch and also improve user convenience by preventing mistakes of the user in operating the switch.
