The invention relates to plucked string instruments comprising an instrument body that defines a longitudinal axis, and at least one string that is mounted on the instrument body. In order to be able to reproducibly manufacture such plucked string instruments with superior sound properties, the instrument body is at least partially made of parts manufactured using a CNC machining operation. The invention also relates to an improved method for manufacturing a plucked string instrument.
