Provided is an information providing device for a vehicle, capable of keeping the movement amount of information displayed on a display part of an in-car device to the necessary minimum limit, and improving the human/machine interface. The information providing device comprises: an in-car device (102) having a display unit (204) for displaying various states as vehicle state information and a first control means (202) for activating the display unit (204); and an external device (103) having a second control means (252) for outputting external information (370) of the vehicle. The display unit (204) has a first display area (R1) for displaying predetermined information (D1), and a second display area (R2) for displaying other information (D2). The first control means (202) implements a first display mode (M1) for displaying the vehicle state information and a second display mode (M2) for displaying the vehicle state information and the external information (370) of the vehicle, and in the second display mode (M2), the first control means activates the display unit (204) so that the external information (370) of the vehicle is displayed on the second display area (R2). |
