摘要 <p>The present invention relates to a method for measuring the depth of a pouch for a rechargeable battery and an apparatus thereof. The apparatus comprises: an ultrasonic generating unit which generates ultrasonic waves and outputs the waves to a cell storage space in a pouch that is formed in an inline situation and is transferred under the control of a control unit; an ultrasonic receiving unit which receives a reflected signal of the ultrasonic waves outputted from the ultrasonic generating unit to the cell storage space of the pouch; and a control unit which measures the depth of the cell storage space of the pouch based on generating time of the ultrasonic waves outputted from the ultrasonic generating unit and receiving time of the reflected signal received by the ultrasonic receiving unit, checks whether or not the measured depth of the pouch exceeds preset allowable limits or error, and displays a normal state or a defective state on a display unit according to the check results. In addition, when the measured depth of the pouch exceeds the preset allowable limits of error, an alarm unit notifies a manager in the outside of the occurrence of a defect in order to be identified. Therefore, the apparatus for measuring the depth of a pouch for a rechargeable battery can monitor the depth of a pouch in real time, can take urgent measures by immediately checking a defect in the depth of the pouch through complete enumeration survey, and can reduce deviations in performance and size among cells.</p>
