<p>The present invention relates to an organic light emitting diode display device and a method for driving the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the organic light emitting diode display device comprises: a display panel which includes data lines, scan lines, and pixels disposed at intersection regions of the data lines and the scan lines in a matrix form; an external compensation unit which compensates digital image data according to threshold voltages of driving TFTs of the pixels; a data driving circuit which converts the compensated digital image data into analog data voltages and applies the data voltages to the data lines; and a scan driving circuit which supplies scan signals to the scan lines. The external compensation unit divides horizontal lines of the display panel into a plurality of blocks, senses threshold voltages of driving TFTs of pixels of a sensing block among the plurality of blocks and calculates threshold voltages of driving TFTs of pixels of the remaining blocks, except for the sensing block, by using the sensed threshold voltages of the driving TFTs of the pixels of the sensing block.</p> |
