<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intuitively and speedily retrieve an image. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording and reproducing device comprises: a matter feature amount detection unit which detects a matter by obtaining a feature amount relating to the matter in a recorded image; a sound information allocation unit which allocates sound information to the detected matter; and a recording and reproducing control unit which records the sound information in association with the image.
