<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of pseudo contours in an electro-optic device driven by turning a pixel ON or OFF in each of a plurality of sub-fields having different period lengths formed by dividing one frame. <P>SOLUTION: One frame is divided into at least two blocks A and B having period lengths equal to each other and continuous in time. The blocks A and B are divided into sub-fields of period lengths different from each other. When the period sum of the sub-fields turned ON in the block B is equal to or less than that in the sub-fields turned ON in the block A with the gradation level of "53", when the gradation level is changed to "54", among the sub-fields turned ON in the block B, sf11 longer by one rank than sf12 having a longest period length and close in time is set to be turned ON, and the fluctuation portion of the period sum of the sub-fields in the block B is set to be smaller than that of the sub-fields turned ON in the block A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
