A child's seat is unfoldable into a position, in which it grips the top and bottom edges of the backrest 43 of a vehicle seat. Thus, hooked members 3 and 37 are drawn together, by the unfolding action, which is terminated by contact of frame 13 with horizontal cross-bar (20). The hooked-shaped metal rod 37 can be located in any selected pair of holes (39) in backrest frame 7. On folding U-shaped frame 1 upwardly, about pivots (6), the upward motion is transmitted, by links 31, to fold seat frame 13 upwardly, about pivots (19). Instead of U-shaped padded guard 27 being pivotably mounted to fold upwardly with the seat frame, the guard may be detached, before the seat is folded (Fig. 4, not shown).
