摘要 The present invention relates to an intervertebral disc prosthesis preferably comprising at least three pieces including an upper plate (1), a lower plate (2) and a mobile core (3) at least in relation to the lower plate (2), co-operation means (23, 33) allowing to limit or eliminate the movements of the core (3) in relation to the lower plate (2), in translation and in rotation, respectively, about an axis substantially parallel to the lower plate (2) and about an axis substantially perpendicular to the lower plate (2), at least one part of the surface of at least one plate being concave and complementary with a convex surface (30) of the core (3), with which it is in contact, wherein the tip (31) of the convex surface (30) of the core (3) is off center, in at least one direction, in relation to the center (32) of this convex surface (30).

An intervertebral prosthesis for insertion between a first vertebra and a second vertebra comprising: a first plate having a geometric center and a first curved bearing surface disposed on an opposite side of the first plate; a second plate having a geometric center and a second flat bearing surface disposed on an opposite side of the second plate; and a mobile core having a flat side and an opposing curved side and a height between the flat side and the curved side, the flat side configured for complementary engagement with the second flat bearing surface and the curved side configured for complementary engagement with the first curved bearing surface, the curved side of the core having a top point defined by the height of the core and a center point defined by the geometric center of the curved side of the core, with the center point offset from the top point; the core having a rest position in which geometric center of the first plate, the geometric center of the second plate, and the top point of the core are aligned along a common axis.
