1. A process of preparing an estolide composition, comprising:
exposing one or more fatty acid reactants to an oligomerization catalyst to provide a composition comprising a first estolide base oil and at least a portion of the one or more fatty acid reactants; removing the at least a portion of the one or more fatty acid reactants from the composition; and oligomerizing the at least a portion of the one or more fatty acid reactants to provide a second estolide base oil. |
