<p>Disclosed are a multimedia device and a method for controlling the same. The method for controlling a multimedia device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a command to enter an external input mode of a specific external device through a user interface unit; searching for at least one external device, which communicates with a network interface unit, through a multimedia device and a network; detecting a specific external device from the searched external devices; pairing with the detected specific external device; receiving video data and GUI data from the specific external device through an external device interface unit; outputting the received video data and GUI data through a display unit; receiving, from a remote controller, a signal corresponding to the movement of the remote controller and a signal corresponding to a key button provided in the remote controller; calculating coordinate information of a screen of the display unit based on the received signal corresponding to the movement of the remote controller; and transmitting a signal corresponding to the calculated coordinate information and the signal corresponding to the key button to the specific external device through the network interface unit.</p> |
