<p>The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for determining a background image for at least one of a lock screen and a home screen in an electronic device. The present invention relates to a technology for configuring a screen of an electronic device. A method for configuring a screen in an electronic device includes determining at least one area from a background image; selecting at least one content to be connected to the determined at least one area; and connecting the selected at least one content to the determined at least one area. The method for configuring a screen in an electronic device may be implemented by other embodiments of the present invention.</p>
