The present invention relates to an electronic device and a method for connection to a network. The electronic device comprises a memory storing user information and a list of discovery operation excluded objects, and a processor. The process includes a network connecting module which performs a discovery operation on nearby APs; and an AP analyzing module which verifies non-connectable APs based on a discovery result and the user information and generates the list of the discovery operation excluded objects for the verified non-connectable APs.
