The present invention provides a method for detecting a session. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and a device for detecting a session which are capable of precisely understanding a web visitor session in web click stream data analysis. The method for detecting a session according to the above includes: a step (a) of setting up a visitor identifier cookie; a step (b) of loading web click stream data if a log record to be processed exists; a step (c) of detecting a web visitor session by using an internet address in the web click stream data corresponding to the existence of the visitor identifier cookie recorded in the log record or detecting the web visitor session by using the visitor identifier cookie and internet address.
