<p>Provided are a system and a method to control a chip form by a feed override control method in a turning operation, capable of extracting an acoustic emission (AE) signal when a continuous chip is generated and an AE signal generated when a cutting type chip is generated during a processing of a soft material, classifying an envelope signal and a fuzzy pattern, and servo-controlling a feed override switch of a machine tool to automatically adjust feed override. The system to control a chip form by a feed override control method in a turning operation comprises: a data collecting unit collecting an AE signal when a continuous chip is generated, and an AE signal when a cutting type chip is generated using an AE sensor based on a burst signal generated when a chip of a structure is fractured; a signal obtaining unit receiving and obtaining the collected AE signals from the data collecting unit; a signal processing unit discrete-wavelet-transforming the AE signal generated when a chip is cut among the AE signals obtained by the signal obtaining unit to select an envelope signal, and classifying a fuzzy pattern; a control unit determining a state of a chip based on the fuzzy pattern classified by the signal processing unit, and outputting a control value to adjust feed override; a servo-mechanism rotating a feed override knob using a gear installed in a knob shaft in order to adjust feed override based on the control value output from the control unit; and an NC operation panel automatically adjusting feed override through rotation of the feed override knob through the servo-mechanism.</p> |
