Liquefied propellant composition comprises 5-8 wt.% of nitrous oxide and/or carbon dioxide dissolved in a mixture of two or more hydrocarbons consisting of cyclopentane, isohexane, 2,3-dimethyl-butane, 3-methyl-pentane and 2,2-dimethyl-butane. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparing the liquefied propellant composition, comprising (a) introducing 92-95 wt.% of a mixture of two or more hydrocarbons comprising cyclopentane, isohexane, 2,3-dimethyl-butane, 3-methyl pentane and 2,2-dimethyl-butane into a reactor equipped with thermostatic valves, and (b) bubbling 5-8 wt.% of nitrous oxide and/or carbon dioxide; (2) an aerosol composition comprising the liquefied propellant composition; and (3) conditioning the aerosol composition, comprising introducing 5-20 wt.% of an active ingredient or mixture of active ingredients into an aerosol package, adjusting a valve on the aerosol package so that it is hermetically closed, and introducing 80-95 wt.% of the propellant composition into the aerosol package.
