<p>A method for displaying interactive display items on a graphical display comprising at least the following steps:
selecting a display portion of the graphical display for receiving interactive display items, the display portion having a main direction and extending from a first position to a last position in said main direction,
storing a number m of interactive display items in an interactive display item data base, wherein each interactive display item has a respective initial item value and a respective reduction function stored with it,
wherein the reduction function when applied to the initial value results in a reduction function value which is smaller or at most equal to the initial value the reduction function is applied to,
wherein the reduction function depends on the position of the interactive display item along the main direction such that the reduction function value decreases with increasing distance of the position of the interactive display item from the first position along the main direction of the display portion, so that the reduction of the initial value of an interactive display item is larger if the item is further away from the first position,
selecting a number n of interactive display items from the m interactive display items stored in the interactive display item data base, with m > n > 2,
applying for each of the selected n interactive display items in a given permutation the respective reduction function to the respective initial value, thereby obtaining a reduction function value of the initial value as a final value for each item in its corresponding position in that permutation,
determining an optimal permutation of the n interactive display items for which the sum of the n final values of the n interactive display items achieves the maximum of all possible permutations and displaying this optimal permutation of the n interactive display items in the display portion of the graphical display.</p> |
