The present invention relates to a coding and recognition system, and an operating method thereof for finger print information, which encodes corresponding finger print information by using a feature point extracted from a finger print image and recognizes the corresponding finger print as the coded data. The present invention extracts feature points from a finger print image inputted from a finger print reader such as camera or line scanner, redisplays the feature points on a scaled screen, sets up a reference line for coding, generates a code for the corresponding finger print and makes a finger print inquiry server inquire a finger print code DB by using the finger print code provided from a finger print inquiry terminal and provide the inquiry result to the finger print inquiry terminal. Therefore, the present invention can compare the registered finger prints for authentication within a tolerable error range even though some feature points are not newly appeared or not inputted whenever newly inputting a finger print, provide a comparison reference point without extracting a finger print core, transmit data with minimum size to the finger print inquiry server by extracting feature points in the finger print input unit and authenticates the finger print using the same. |
