Provided is an element substrate which suppresses generation of electronic noise when operating a printing element in an element substrate having a long wire length, prevents malfunction, and is capable of printing a high-quality image. A plurality of element substrates each including a printing element are disposed in a direction in which the printing elements are arranged. Each element substrate including a wire supplying power to operate the printing element, and a contact wire from the printing element are configured as below. Each element substrate includes a delay circuit delaying and supplying a heat enable signal for operating the printing element to each printing element; and a conversion circuit converting a delay sequence in case of supplying the heat enable signal to each printing element in accordance with a control signal. |
