The present invention relates to a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier package capable of amplifying an optical signal in a passive optical network. The reflective semiconductor optical amplifier package of the present invention can be used in various situations of the passive optical network and has advantages of a small size, easy installation, and a low price. The reflective semiconductor optical amplifier package of the present invention comprises: a base substrate having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite to the upper surface; a radiating TEC element formed on the upper surface of the base substrate; a reflective semiconductor optical amplifier coupled to the top of the TEC element; a TO-can coupled to the upper surface of the base substrate to receive the TEC element and the reflective semiconductor optical amplifier and having an opening formed on the upper surface thereof to input and output an optical signal; a shielding layer to shield the opening and pass the optical signal amplified in an amplification region; and a plurality of lead wires coupled to the other surface of the base substrate, wherein the semiconductor optical amplifier consists of a plurality of material layers and includes the amplification region to amplify the inputted optical signal, a non-reflective coating surface formed on one end of the amplification region to transmit the optical signal to the amplification region, and a reflective coating surface formed on the other end of the amplification region to reflect the optical signal passing through the amplification region. |
