The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus capable of providing a more realistic feedback effect in response to a user input by reflecting the characteristics of a displayed image. According to the present invention, a method for providing feedback corresponding to a user input includes dividing an input image into predetermined size units, checking image characteristics for the image divided into the predetermined size units, and classifying feedback cluster levels; and providing a feedback effect corresponding to a feedback cluster level where a divided image is included when a user input occurs.
