The present invention relates a device for defrosting an evaporator of a cooling device including i) frost sensing device (50) transmitting sensed variable current signals to a processor (60) according to a frost amount sensed at a rate of the reception of infrared rays with respect to the emission of infrared rays after receiving signals transmitted from the processor (60); ii) the processor (60) filtering the variable current signals to convert the same into digital signals and transmitting operational signals to a defrosting device (70) if the digital signals exceed a predetermined threshold inputted into the processor (60); and iii) the defrosting device (70) operated in accordance with the signals received from the processor (60).
