Disclosed is an air conditioner for a vehicle with improved matching properties between an air conditioning case and a duct as a sweeping prevention unit is arranged on a coupling part of the air conditioning case and the duct to prevent the duct from being swept. The air conditioner for a vehicle comprises: the air conditioning case having a defrost vent outlet and a face vent outlet on the top; the duct connected to the top of the defrost vent outlet and the face vent outlet to discharge air to the indoor space of a vehicle; the coupling part to couple the air conditioning case and the duct together; and the sweeping prevention unit to prevent the duct from being swept from the air conditioning case towards one side when the air conditioning case and the duct are being coupled together. Therefore, the air conditioner for a vehicle improves matching properties by accurately matching the duct with the air conditioning case to facilitate the assembly of the duct and the air conditioning case; and prevents a leakage of noise caused by an inappropriate matching between the duct and the air conditioning case.
