<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a motor torque of motor driven power steering (MDPS) and a method thereof which estimates weather by reflecting temperature and humidity information when starting a vehicle, estimates or calculates road friction force using the estimated weather information, and controls the motor torque of the MDPS corresponding to the estimated or calculated road friction force information, thereby controlling the MDPS by reflecting road information in accordance with various weather conditions such as dry, humid, or freezing weather in snowless or rainless situations, and thus improving inhomogeneity, which is the most serious problem of the MDPS.</p> |
