Disclosed is a method for forcibly entering a charge-sustaining mode (CS mode) for a plug-in hybrid vehicle capable of providing driving patterns identical to those in the CS mode by forcibly entering the CS mode even though the plug-in hybrid vehicle drives in a charge-depleting mode (CD mode). The present invention includes a step of determining whether a forced entry into the CS mode is selected or not while the vehicle drives in the CD mode; a step of determining whether or not the charged state of a battery is a boundary value of the CD mode and CS mode or higher when the forced entry into the CS mode is selected; a step of determining whether or not a discharge limit value is a CS mode entry boundary value or higher if the charged state of the battery is the boundary value of the CD mode and CS mode or higher; and a step of controlling output torque of a driving motor and an engine by applying the state of charge (SOC1) and charge-discharge limit values (X1, Y1) after forcibly entering the CS mode if the discharge limit value of the battery is the CS mode entry boundary value or higher.
|
