#CMT# #/CMT# Treating straightened keratin fibers, comprises applying a composition comprising at least one carboxylic acid in its acid or salified form, and at least one fatty substance to the straightened keratin fibers, where the composition has a concentration of >= 2% and a pH of 3-8. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The process is useful for treating straightened keratin fibers (claimed), preferably hair. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The process treats straightened keratin fiber with improved feel, softness and touchness, and without rough patches. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Process: The keratin fibers have been straightened by applying a composition comprising an alkaline hydroxide. The composition is applied to wet hair. The process further comprises smoothing the hair with a smoothing iron. The composition is left on the keratin fibers for 5 minutes to 2 hours, preferably 20 minutes. Preferred Components: The composition has a pH of 3-5, preferably 3-4. The carboxylic acid comprises tricarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid, amino dicarboxylic acid, monocarboxylic acid, alpha -hydroxylated carboxylic acid, dihydroxylated carboxylic acid and their salts. The carboxylic acid or its salt comprises citric acid (preferred), sodium citrate, maleic acid, sodium maleate, succinic acid, sodium succinate, aspartic acid, sodium aspartate, glutamic acid, sodium glutamate, lactic acid, sodium lactate, malic acid, sodium malate, tartaric acid or sodium tartrate. The carboxylic acid is present at 1-50 (preferably 2-5) wt.%. The fatty substances are liquid at ambient temperature of 25[deg] C and at atmospheric pressure (760 mm of mercury, i.e. 1.013x 105 Pa). The fatty substance is: hydrocarbons, fatty alcohols, fatty esters, silicones and/or fatty ethers; oils of plant origin (preferred), liquid petroleum jelly, linear or branched 6-16C lower alkanes, liquid esters or liquid fatty alcohols; and present at 0.1-30 (preferably 1-15) wt.%.
|
