The present invention relates to a vehicle control device installed in a steering wheel, which comprises: an acoustic wave sensor installed in the steering wheel of a vehicle, and converting an acoustic wave signal generated by an external input into an electric signal; and a control part recognizing a pattern according to the external input by analyzing the electric signal transmitted from the acoustic sensor, and performing an operation according to the recognized pattern. The vehicle control device according to the present invention has the acoustic wave sensor or a touch pad applied to the steering wheel of a vehicle, so a driver can operate the vehicle control device easily, and can control various devices without the dispersion of gaze while gripping the steering wheel. In addition, by having the acoustic wave sensor or the touch pad applied to the steering wheel of a vehicle, the vehicle control device according to the present invention is capable of minimizing constraints on the shape of the steering wheel in the case of manufacturing the steering wheel compared with an existing button- or switch-type vehicle control device. Furthermore, the vehicle control device according to the present invention is capable of minimizing kinematic operations compared with the existing button- or switch-type vehicle control device by having the acoustic wave sensor or the touch pad applied to the steering wheel of a vehicle, thereby improving the abrasion resistance and the durability of the vehicle control device installed in the steering wheel.
|
