1. A splicing device which connects number one carrier tape and number two carrier tape provided with cavities for storing components and indexing holes at fixed intervals using splicing tape, comprising:
number one and number two cutting devices for respectively cutting at a predetermined cutting position the tail end of number one carrier tape and the leading end of number two carrier tape; a positioning device for indexing number one and number two carrier tapes cut by the number one and two cutting devices in a direction towards each other and for positioning them at a splicing position at which positioning pins engage in the indexing holes of number one carrier tape and the indexing holes of number two carrier tape; and a joining device which, at the splicing position, uses splicing tape indexed in a direction perpendicular to the indexing direction of the number one and number two carrier tapes, wherein the splicing tape, with the attachment surface to be connected of number one and number two carrier tapes as the outer side, is affixed using intervals in the length direction of connected protective tape, and with the splicing tape positioned at the splicing position, folds the protective tape and joins the splicing tape to both surfaces of the number one and number two carrier tapes straddling thereof. |
