PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a gear mechanism for rotating a mechanical pencil body in a core rotary type mechanical pencil in which a core is rotated by a writing pressure.SOLUTION: A cylindrical body cover 1 is provided with a front gear 35 and a rear gear 36, and a mechanical pencil body 2, which has a front stationery gear 38 and a rear stationery gear 39, is so provided in the body cover as to be horizontally movable and rotatable. The mechanical pencil body is horizontally moved depending on presence or absence of a writing pressure, the rear stationery gear and the rear gear, and the front stationery gear and the front gear are alternatively engaged. Since phases of teeth of the front stationery gear and the front gear are deviated from phases of teeth of the rear stationery gear and the rear gear, the mechanical pencil body is rotated in association with horizontal movement thereof, whereby a core is rotated. The mechanical pencil body projecting from the body cover is covered with a rotatable protection collar 55. |
