PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of accurately determining an inclination of an original even when an original of white paper with a white sheet is read as a background.SOLUTION: A fiber section having a feature of paper fiber is extracted from image data, a direction of fiber in the fiber section is analyzed, and an inclination of an original in reading the original is calculated on the basis of the direction.
