SOLUBLE CMET ASSAY

Disclosed herein are methods of using antibodies to detect soluble cMet (scMet) in a sample. The methods may be used to diagnose liver disease or cancer in a patient by detecting the presence and/or amount of scMet in a sample from the patient using anti-cMet antibodies. The methods may be used to develop an accurate prognosis for a patient having liver disease or cancer. The methods may be used to identify and/or classify a patient as a candidate for a liver disease therapy and/or cancer therapy.
