SUTURE PACKAGING 5 A suture package (100) for retaining a barbed suture (5) is provided. The suture package (100) includes a suture retaining member (10) including an outer wall (14) and an inner wall (16). The inner wall (16) is radially spaced from the outer wall (14) and defines a suture retaining area therebetween. The inner wall (16) defines a needle retaining area and includes at least one opening therein to permit reception of at least one io suture therethrough. The outer wall (14) includes a plurality of inwardly extending tabs (18) configured to engage a cover (30).
