PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device including a small-sized fluorescent light generation device with high output, and a small-sized thin projector having the light source device.SOLUTION: A projector according to the present invention comprises: a light source device; a light guide device; a display element; a projection side optical system; and projector control means. The light source device comprises: three fluorescent light generation devices 130 for generating red, green, and blue wavelength region light. The fluorescent light generation device 130 comprises: an excitation light source 131; a condenser lens 132 arranged on an optical path of the excitation light source 131; a phosphor 133; a mirror face box 136 having an incident port 136a for receiving excitation light; a dichroic filter 137 transmitting emission light and reflecting the excitation light; and a condensing optical system 135 arranged ahead of the dichroic filter 137. The excitation light is condensed to the incident port 136a by the condenser lens 132 to be incident into the mirror face box 136. The phosphor 133 emits light by the excitation light thereby radiating emission light as effective light from one direction. |
