The present invention pertains to a secondary cell. This secondary cell has a cell main unit (48) of cylindrical shape, and a cover member (50) housing the cell main unit (48). The cover member (50) has a cylindrical body (56) covering at least the side surface of the cell main unit (48), and a bottom part (58) covering at least a portion of the bottom surface (48b) of the cell main unit (48). The bottom part (58) has a jutting portion (62) which juts in a direction away from the bottom surface (48b) of the cell main unit (48), and which contacts at the end surface thereof an insulating plate (68). The surface area of the end surface of the jutting portion (62) is smaller than the surface area of the bottom surface (48b) of the cell main unit (48). |
