Disclosed are a link re-establishment method, a UE and an RNC, which relate to the field of wireless communications, and can quickly start the process of link restoration, reduce the duration of service interruption and improve the quality of service. The content of the present application mainly comprises: after a UE sends a measurement report to an RNC, starting a first timer; and if the first timer has timed out and does not satisfy a switching condition, conducting cell reselection and initiating a cell updating process so as to re-establish a radio link. The embodiments of the present application are mainly used in the process of restoring or re-establishing a radio link.
