<p>The objective of the present invention is to provide an organic electroluminescent element which has no limits on a light emitting material to be used therefor and has an emission pattern of two or more colors. This organic electroluminescent element (100) is characterized in that: a plurality of light emitting layers (3c) having different luminescent colors are sandwiched between a pair of electrodes (1, 5a); at least one of the plurality of light emitting layers (3c) contains a photothermal conversion material that absorbs light and converts the light into heat; and the light emitting layer (3c) containing the photothermal conversion material is heated by being irradiated with light that has a wavelength corresponding to the maximum absorption wavelength of the photothermal conversion material, so that the light emitting function thereof is changed and an emission pattern is formed.</p> |
