PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a strengthened glass having a low crack generation rate even if BOis not excessively contained, further having sufficiently high strengthening properties and stain point, and further suitable for thinning, and a glass for strengthening.SOLUTION: Provided is a strengthened glass having a compressive stress layer on the surface, comprising, as a glass composition, by mol%, 50 to 80% SiO, 10 to 30% AlO, 0 to 6% BO, 5 to 25% NaO, and 0 to 10% MgO, and not comprising AsO, SbO, PbO, and F.
