Various methods are described for implementing secondary networks for cooperative communications with a primary network. One example method may include providing for connection to a primary network. The method of this example embodiment may further include receiving configuration information comprising one or more criteria for connecting to a secondary network. Furthermore, the method of this example embodiment may include providing for connection to the secondary network based at least in part on the one or more criteria. The method of this example embodiment may further include causing communication of data with a network entity in the primary network in cooperation with one or more devices connected to the secondary network.
