An electric device (for example, an air conditioner (10)) that is remotely operated by an operation unit included in a portable terminal (16) is provided with an application data storage unit (for example, an application data storage area) which stores data unique to the electric device, the operation unit comprises a common operation part that includes a communication driver and a screen layout frame that are common to electric devices of the same type, and a unique operation part that includes information unique to the electric device, the common operation part is supplied from an external server (for example, a database server (20)), and the unique operation part is supplied from the application data storage unit.
