The invention relates to oral care. In particular the invention relates to an oral care composition for inhibiting the growth of potentially pathogenic oral microorganisms, said composition comprising an extract of Heteropyxis natalensis. The invention further relates to an oral care composition which includes Heteropyxis natalensis in combination with other essential oils and plant extracts.
