<p>This invention provides an inkjet printing system and a non-discharge correction method therefor whereby when using amplitude-modulation halftoning or clustered halftoning to render tones, non-discharge can be corrected for with an appropriate correction strength. A single-pass inkjet printing system (110) in one mode of this invention is provided with the following: a halftone processing unit (120) that renders tones using either amplitude-modulation halftoning or clustered halftoning, in which dots are arranged in clusters of two or more dots in the nozzle-layout direction of a print head; and a non-discharge correction processing unit (118) that, on the basis of position information for non-discharging nozzles, subjects an input image or a halftone image to an image correction process that reduces the visibility of image defects in printing-problem sections due to said non-discharging nozzles. In this non-discharge correction, dot patterns for non-discharge correction sections near the printing-problem sections are generated with the strength of said non-discharge correction varied in accordance with the distance, in the nozzle-layout direction, from the edge of the cluster.</p> |
