The present invention provides the following: a stress display member which has a selective reflection layer, the selective reflection layer having a cholesteric liquid crystal layer obtained by curing a liquid crystal composition including a polymerizable liquid crystal compound, and the selective reflection layer selectively reflects, in a specific wavelength region, circularly polarized light, that is, either right-handed circularly polarized light or left-handed circularly polarized light; or the stress display member further having a birefringence layer and optionally a circularly polarized separation layer. Further provided is a strain measurement method that is carried out using either of the foregoing stress display members. Due to this stress display member, possible is strain measurement by which strain arising in a large surface area object can be measured and visualized at a low cost, and with which highly accurate measurement is achieved. |
