The present invention relates to an improved material discharge door system and a material discharge container including such a door system. The door system includes a door 5 which is slideably moveable with respect to an opening of the container chute between an open position and a closed position, whereby the opening and the door extend along substantially parallel, declined planes to facilitate gravitational discharge of material and cleaning. The invention further relates to improvements in the means for opening and closing the door, and locking of the door. -O
