Disclosed herein are three types of skin-derived cells. One type of the cells is mesenchymal stem cells characterized by expression of the cell surface biomarker cluster of differentiation (CD) 146, the second type expresses CD271. The third type of cells is regeneration-associated cells characterized by expression of the cell surface biomarkers stage-specific embryonic antigen 3 (SSEA3) and CD 105 (clone 35). Also disclosed are methods of isolating, purifying, culturing, storing, and using these cells. |
