PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for quickly and easily detecting a microorganism with high sensitivity.SOLUTION: A method for detecting a microorganism to be detected contained in a sample includes: an adhesion step for making a metal nano particle adhere to a microorganism to be detected contained in a sample; an evaluation step for irradiating the sample with light and evaluating a scattering characteristic of light corresponding to an adhesion condition of the metal nano particle to the microorganism to be detected; and a detection step for detecting the microorganism to be detected based on an evaluation result of the evaluation step.
