Disclosed is a ribbon cartridge for a label printing device, which comprises a ribbon cartridge cavity. A print band (18) for printing, a medium band (17) for providing a print medium and a carrier band (20) used as a carrier are housed in the ribbon cartridge cavity. A detecting area (5) for detecting feature information about the ribbon cartridge is arranged on the label printing device, and a plurality of detecting columns (XY) distributed in a plane are arranged in the detecting area. The ribbon cartridge further comprises monitoring parts (10) corresponding to the detecting area of the label printing device, wherein the monitoring parts are monitoring columns (11) corresponding to the detecting columns. The number or positions of the monitoring columns represent the feature of the ribbon cartridge, or the combination of the number and the positions of the monitoring columns represents the feature of the ribbon cartridge. Since the label printing device uses the monitoring columns to bear against the corresponding detecting columns to conduct detecting, compared with the manner in which the monitoring part uses a porous and non-porous combination, the detection accuracy of the feature information about the ribbon cartridge is greatly improved. |
