PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make change of tension that is given easy, and to prevent fluctuation of the tension that is given.SOLUTION: A tension giving device of a long object includes a pair of guide rollers 26a, 26b provided along one side of a long object 12 extending in a length direction, a dancer roller 26d on which the long object 12 that has passed between the pair of guide rollers 26a, 26b is wound, a swing lever 26c that can swing with a base end as a center along the long object 12 where the dancer roller 26d is pivoted at a tip end, and energizing means for energizing the dancer roller 26d in the direction coming away from the pair of guide rollers 26a, 26b. The energizing means incudes a motor 27 which is provide at a base end of the swing lever 26c to rotate the swing lever 26c at predetermined torque, and a fluid pressure cylinder 28 which energizes the swing lever 26c so that a protrusion/retreating rod 28a is protruded/retreated by fluid pressure to move the dancer roller 26d in the direction coming away from the pair of guide rollers 26a, 26b. |
