摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent combustion instability or misfire caused by excess EGR by effectively suppressing increase of an EGR rate of intake air when the opening of a throttle valve in an internal combustion engine decreases.SOLUTION: A communication passage 7 is provided to bring a part of an intake passage 3 upstream of a throttle valve 32 in communication with a part of an EGR passage 21 downstream of an EGR valve 23 and to let an air current, which flows when the opening of the throttle valve decreases, flow from a downstream side of the EGR passage toward an upstream side, so as to prevent the EGR gas remaining in the part downstream of the EGR valve from flowing into a surge tank 33 and delay increase of an EGR rate of intake air supplied from the surge tank to a cylinder 1.</p>
